PROJECTS/CIVIL ENGINEER

The Fountain Hills Sanitary District is looking for a Civil Engineer/Project Manager to assist with managing and administering the District’s system and facility improvement projects. The position will administer and oversee the design and construction of projects that extend, replace, or improve the District’s collection system infrastructure, wastewater treatment plants, and reclaimed water storage wells and distribution systems. The ideal candidate has strong analytical skills, exercises sound judgment, and has a knowledge of Federal, State, and local requirements affecting the planning, design, construction, and operation of a sanitary district/wastewater utility.

Registration as a Professional Engineer in the State of Arizona is required within 12 months of hire. The applicant must possess a valid AZ driver’s license and have a clean driving record. A pre-employment drug screening and background check are required. The District offers competitive salaries and benefits, including health plans and retirement plans. The pay range for this position is $79,000 to $105,000, depending upon direct relatable experience and level of responsibility. The position is scheduled for full-time, but maybe part-time if needed by the best-suited candidate.

TREATMENT PLANT OPERATOR

Fountain Hills Sanitary District is looking to hire an entry-level Plant Operator with the ability to obtain and maintain certification from the Arizona Department of Environment Quality (ADEQ) in Wastewater Treatment, and be prepared to learn Treatment Plant Operation duties to include the following:

Operate wastewater treatment facilities under the guidance of a Lead Operator to control flow and processing of wastewater sludge and effluent; monitor gauges, meters, and control panels, observe variation in operating conditions, interpreting meter and gauge readings and test results to determine processing requirements.

Operate valves and gates; start and stop pumps, engines and electric motors to control and adjust flow and treatment processes; monitor, adjust and troubleshoot as needed plant operational processes utilizing data-driven technology, such as the SCADA system.

Fully utilize the computerized work system in accordance with workflow processes.

Operate treatment plant vehicles and stationary machinery as required.

This is a District safety-sensitive position according to Arizona law and is subject to pre-employment and random drug and alcohol screening.  This position will also require the individual to wear a respirator as needed in accordance with OSHA requirements.  The applicant must possess an AZ driver’s license and have a clean driving record.

Weekend, holiday, and shift work may be required.  The pay range for this position is $18.57-$26.92/hr.

COLLECTION SYSTEM OPERATOR I-IV

Fountain Hills Sanitary District is looking for a highly motivated individual to assist in the operation, maintenance, inspection, and repair of the District’s Sewer Collection, Pump Station, and Recycled Water Distribution Systems and their components. The ideal applicant will have the ability to perform assigned maintenance responsibilities according to established procedures. As well as learn the operations of specialized equipment, basic computerized software programs, interpret operational and technical manuals, maps, blueprints, drawings, and diagrams.

The District offers a great work culture and competitive salaries and benefits, including health plans and retirement savings plans. The pay range for the position is $18.57 to $38.98 per hour, depending upon certification and experience level.

Applicant must possess an AZ driver’s license, have a clean driving record, and be able to obtain a CDL license within six months of employment. A pre-employment drug test and background check are required. The applicant will already have or be able to obtain within one year of hire, a Wastewater Collection Certification issued by the ADEQ.   Prior experience in Collections is desirable.

MAINTENANCE MECHANIC

Fountain Hills Sanitary District is looking for a reliable and experienced light-duty and heavy-duty fleet mechanic. Experience to include hydraulics, air brakes, A/C, power train, engine cooling, and driveline. Experience with electric carts, backhoes, dump trucks, vactor trucks, forklifts, generators, and various other equipment. Performs regular maintenance as well as emergency repairs, repairs in the shop, or the field depending upon need. Knowledge of welding, cutting and fabrication is desired.

Applicant must possess a valid AZ driver’s license and have a clean driving record. Applicants selected for employment will be required to obtain a Class B AZ CDL with tanker endorsement within 6 months of hire. A pre-employment drug screening and background check are required. The District offers competitive salaries and benefits, including health plans and retirement plans. The pay range for Mechanic is $22.09-$32.00/hr depending on the level of experience.

MAINTENANCE TECHNICIAN

Fountain Hills Sanitary District is looking for a Maintenance Technician to assist with the maintenance of all District vehicles and mechanical equipment. The ideal candidate will be mechanically inclined and have a basic working knowledge of hand tools and mechanical skills. Previous work on vehicles is desired, such as oil change, tire rotation, and other basic vehicle maintenance. The work is performed under the direction of the Maintenance Manager and Senior Maintenance Mechanic. This is a District safety-sensitive position in accordance with Arizona law and a DOT safety-sensitive position.

Applicants must possess a valid AZ driver’s license and have a clean driving record. The individual selected for employment will be required to obtain an AZ CDL within one year of hire. A pre-employment physical, drug screening, and background check are required. The District offers competitive salaries and benefits, including health plans and retirement plans. Starting pay for this position is $18.57/hr.
