WASTEWATER TREATMENT PLANT OPERATOR I OR II

Fountain Hills Sanitary District is looking for a Plant Operator Grade 1 or 2 with certification from ADEQ and have the ability to obtain and maintain certification to wear a respirator in accordance with OSHA requirements.  This is a District safety-sensitive position in accordance with Arizona law.  The applicant must possess an AZ driver’s license and have a clean driving record, and be prepared to assist with but not limited to the following duties: 

Operate wastewater treatment facilities to control flow and processing of wastewater sludge and effluent; monitor gauges, meters, and control panels, observe variations in operating conditions, interpreting meter and gauge readings and test results to determine processing requirements.  

Operate valves and gates; start and stop pumps, engines and electric motors to control and adjust flow and treatment processes; monitor, adjust and troubleshoot as needed plant operational processes utilizing data-driven technology, such as the SCADA system.  

Fully utilize the computerized work system in accordance with workflow processes.

Operate treatment plant vehicles and stationary machinery as required.    

Weekend, holiday and shift work is required along with employment testing and a background check.  The pay range for this position is $18.21-$31.38/hr.

WASTEWATER COLLECTION SYSTEM OPERATOR

Fountain Hills Sanitary District is looking for a highly motivated individual to assist in the operation, maintenance, inspection, and repair of the District’s sewer collection and recycled water distribution systems and their components. The ideal applicant will have the ability to perform assigned maintenance responsibilities according to established procedures. As well as learn the operations of specialized equipment, basic computerized software programs, interpret operational and technical manuals, maps, blueprints, drawings, and diagrams.

The applicant will already have or be able to obtain within one year of hire, a Wastewater Collection Certification issued by the ADEQ.

SENIOR MAINTENANCE MECHANIC

Fountain Hills Sanitary District is looking for a reliable and experienced Senior Maintenance Mechanic to maintain all District vehicles and mechanical equipment. The ideal candidate will have experience working on hydraulics, air brakes, A/C, power train, engine cooling, and driveline. Also, experience working on electric carts, backhoes, dump trucks, vactor trucks, forklifts, generators, and various other equipment is ideal. The applicant will perform regular maintenance and emergency repairs, in the shop, or the field depending upon need. Knowledge of welding, cutting, and fabrication is desired.

The applicants must possess a valid AZ driver’s license and have a clean driving record. The individual selected for employment will be required to obtain a Class B AZ CDL with tanker endorsement within 6 months of hire. A pre-employment drug screening and background check are required. The District offers competitive salaries and benefits, including health plans and retirement plans. The pay range for a Senior Mechanic is $24.51-$35.49/hr. depending on experience.

MAINTENANCE TECHNICIAN

Fountain Hills Sanitary District is looking for a Maintenance Technician to assist with the maintenance of all District vehicles and mechanical equipment. The ideal candidate will be mechanically inclined and have a basic working knowledge of hand tools and mechanical skills. Previous work on vehicles is desired, such as oil change, tire rotation, and other basic vehicle maintenance. The work is performed under the direction of the Maintenance Manager and Senior Maintenance Mechanic. This is a District safety-sensitive position in accordance with Arizona law and a DOT safety-sensitive position.

Applicants must possess a valid AZ driver’s license and have a clean driving record. The individual selected for employment will be required to obtain an AZ CDL within one year of hire. A pre-employment physical, drug screening, and background check are required. The District offers competitive salaries and benefits, including health plans and retirement plans. Starting pay for this position is $18.21/hr.
